EHS OFFICER @ WILMAR RICE COMPANY LIMITED
The EHS Officer at WILMAR RICE COMPANY LIMITED in Morogoro plays a crucial role in promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment while ensuring environmental compliance. This position involves providing essential coaching, guidance, and advice to the site Management Team to effectively implement and drive continuous improvement of the EHS Management System and respond promptly to EHS events as they occur. The officer will undertake various EHS duties as directed by their Manager and diligently maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the EHS Management System.
Key responsibilities include ensuring that all responsibilities outlined in this document align with the EIP, are clearly assigned and documented in relevant position descriptions, and are covered in circumstances where responsible persons are unavailable. The EHS Officer will monitor EHS impacts, risks, and events as required by respective procedures, and meticulously monitor EHS performance, reporting findings to Senior Managers and Regulatory bodies in accordance with monitoring and reporting procedures. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring that all necessary training, including inductions, is conducted appropriately to meet the needs of the business, personnel, and visitors.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering / environmental science / Geography and Environmental Studies/ Environmental and Disaster Management
OSHA Training is an added advantage
Fire Science training is an added advantage
Proven ability to provide effective coaching, guidance, and advice on EHS matters
Experience in implementing and continuously improving EHS Management Systems
Strong capability to monitor EHS impacts, risks, and events
Proficiency in EHS performance monitoring and reporting to senior management and regulatory bodies
Experience in designing and conducting EHS training and induction programs
Thorough knowledge of relevant EHS regulations and industry standards
Commitment to fostering a strong safety culture and environmental stewardship
