WANYOU MINING is seeking an experienced Excavator and Heavy-Duty Vehicle Mechanic for its Graphite Processing Plant in Mkange. This role involves the crucial task of diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a range of industrial machines, including crawler excavators and heavy-duty transport trucks. The successful candidate will ensure all hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and diesel engine systems operate safely, efficiently, and in strict adherence to manufacturer specifications.
The mechanic's duties include utilizing advanced computerized diagnostic tools to identify complex faults, performing comprehensive repairs on heavy equipment attachments, track assemblies, and vehicle components, and conducting major and minor overhauls on diesel engines and braking systems. The role also emphasizes preventative maintenance through routine fluid changes and filter replacements, along with welding and fabrication for structural repairs. A strong commitment to strict workplace safety standards, proper handling of hazardous materials, and accurate record-keeping for inventory and service performed is essential.

Key Requirements
High school diploma
Completion of a relevant vocational or apprenticeship program
Proven practical experience in heavy equipment mechanics
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults
Proficiency in performing major and minor repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and brake systems
Experience with preventative maintenance, including fluid changes and filter replacements
Skills in welding and fabrication using oxy-acetylene torches and electrical welding equipment
Knowledge of compliance and safety standards, including handling hazardous materials
Capability to order spare parts and maintain accurate records of services performed
