DATA SCIENTIST (10+ YEARS EXPERIENCE) @ VHS CONSULTING
VHS Consulting is seeking an experienced Data Scientist for a long-term contract position supporting a client with operations in Plano, Texas, and New Jersey. This role requires a professional with over ten years of experience and a strong academic background in Statistics, preferably at the Master’s level or higher. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex and unstructured datasets with minimal supervision, focusing on solving overarching business questions such as the impact of pricing on volume demand while considering availability constraints. The position is available in multiple locations across the United States, specifically in Plano, Texas, and New Jersey. Candidates must have extensive experience with advanced statistical and econometric models, including constrained hierarchical GLMs and Bayesian hierarchical models. Proficiency in working with large-scale datasets in cloud-based environments like Databricks is essential. Additionally, familiarity with Git for version control is required to ensure a smooth onboarding process and efficient collaboration within the technical team. Please note that this requirement is specifically for H1B visa holders. Work locations include Plano, TX, and New Jersey, NJ, providing multiple options for qualified candidates within the United States.
Key Requirements
Master’s degree or higher in Statistics or a related quantitative field.
Minimum of 10 years of professional real-world experience in data science.
Expertise in handling complex and messy datasets with minimal direction.
Strong ability to explore data to solve specific business goals or questions.
Experience with constrained hierarchical GLMs with weighted partial pooling.
Advanced knowledge of Bayesian hierarchical models with weighted partial pooling.
Hands-on experience with constrained random coefficient models.
Proven experience working with large-scale datasets in cloud environments like Databricks.
Proficiency in using code version control systems such as GitHub.
Must hold a valid H1B visa status to be eligible for this role.
Solid background in econometric modeling and statistical analysis.
Ability to model complex constraints such as volume demand and availability.
