CUSTOM CLEARANCE SPECIALIST @ VDAMAUTOMOTIVE
The Custom Clearance Specialist at Vdamautomotive will be responsible for meticulously preparing, reviewing, and submitting essential customs documentation. This includes ensuring the accuracy of customs declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin. A key aspect of the role involves correctly classifying goods using harmonized systems and strictly adhering to both local and international trade laws, thereby facilitating smooth import and export operations. Furthermore, this position entails handling bulk carrier customs clearance, which includes attending pre-shipment meetings, fostering relationships with bulk carrier shipping partners, and overseeing container inspection and loading processes. During bulk carrier unloading, the specialist will manage vehicle contact and dispatching, process necessary permit applications, and coordinate all related logistical work to ensure efficient and compliant goods movement. The gross monthly salary for this role ranges from 1.2M to 1.5M TZS.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or Business Administration.
2-3 years of proven experience in customs brokerage, import/export operations, or a clearing and forwarding role.
In-depth knowledge of regional customs regulations and specific port/terminal operating procedures, particularly within Tanzania.
Familiarity and proficiency with digital customs clearance and port management systems, such as TANCIS and TANESW.
Demonstrated ability to prepare, review, and accurately submit various customs documents including declarations, invoices, and certificates of origin.
Expertise in classifying goods according to harmonized systems and ensuring compliance with all trade laws.
Experience in managing bulk carrier customs clearance, including pre-shipment coordination and partner development.
Strong organizational skills for overseeing container inspection, loading, vehicle dispatching, and permit applications.
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all documentation and procedural tasks.
Effective communication and problem-solving skills to navigate complex customs scenarios and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
