DIRECTOR OF ICT SERVICES @ UNIVERSITY OF IRINGA
The University of Iringa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of ICT Services to lead its information technology division. The successful candidate will report directly to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Planning, Administration, and Finance, providing strategic leadership to align ICT infrastructure with the university’s overall goals. This role involves overseeing the ICT Directorate, managing network and system security, and driving digital transformation across campus departments.
Key responsibilities include developing strategic technology proposals, conducting performance analysis of current systems to optimize productivity, and supervising the procurement of hardware and software. The Director will also act as a primary point of contact for external vendors, facilitate security audits, and provide essential support to staff. The position demands a leader capable of fostering a culture of teamwork, managing technological change in an educational setting, and staying at the forefront of emerging global ICT trends.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field
Master’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field
Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional work experience
Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams
Proficiency in managing large-scale ICT infrastructure and networks
Strong understanding of ICT security protocols and audit processes
Experience in managing organizational and technological change
Capability to develop and execute strategic technology roadmaps
Excellent skills in vendor management and external partner relations
