QUALIFIED WELDER @ UNITRAC SOUTH AFRICA
UNITRAC South Africa is currently seeking a Qualified Welder to join our expanding team in Johannesburg. This role is specifically designed for professionals with extensive experience in the Heavy-Duty Trailer Repair Industry. Candidates must be proficient in Mild Steel CO2 welding as well as Aluminium MIG and TIG welding. The position involves working on various trailers and tankers, ensuring that all structural repairs and modifications meet the high-quality standards required for commercial transport.
Successful candidates will be rewarded with a market-related salary paid weekly, determined by their skill level during an on-site practical test. The role requires a commitment of 45 standard hours per week, with a strong expectation for overtime and weekend work to meet client deadlines. In addition to base pay, employees are eligible for quarterly performance-based bonuses and an annual shut-down bonus in line with industry council prescriptions. The workshop environment is fast-paced, demanding a high level of technical expertise and a dedicated work ethic.

Key Requirements
Qualified Welder certification
Proven experience in Mild Steel CO2 welding
Specific expertise in Aluminium MIG and TIG welding
Relevant trailer or tanker welding experience
Clean and sober habits as a non-negotiable requirement
Contactable references from the transport industry
Willingness to work overtime and weekends
