AIR BRAKE TECHNICIAN @ UNITRAC SOUTH AFRICA
Our Johannesburg workshop is seeking an Air Brake Technician specialized in advanced ABS and EBS systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with market-standard systems such as Knorr Bremse and WABCO. You will be responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and testing of complex air brake systems on heavy-duty trailers to ensure they meet legal safety requirements and operational standards.
The role provides a market-related salary with weekly back-pay and is subject to an on-site skills assessment. Employees benefit from a structured bonus system based on quarterly performance and annual council-prescribed shut-down bonuses. Due to the nature of the transport industry, candidates must be flexible with their working hours, including weekends and overtime, to ensure fleet downtime is minimized.

Key Requirements
In-depth experience with ABS and EBS systems
Specific training or experience with Knorr Bremse products
Proficiency in WABCO air brake systems
Relevant technical ability within the trailer industry
Clean and sober habits (mandatory requirement)
Ability to troubleshoot complex pneumatic systems
Strong commitment to safety and compliance
