TEAM LEAD, TELECOMMUNICATIONS @ UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA (UBA)
United Bank for Africa (UBA) is seeking a highly experienced Team Lead, Telecommunications to drive the corporate and commercial banking agenda specifically within the telecommunications sector. The successful candidate will be based at the Head Office in Dar es Salaam and will be responsible for client acquisition, strategic relationship management, and overall portfolio growth. You will play a pivotal role in leading a team of Relationship Managers and Officers to ensure the delivery of tailored banking solutions, credit management, and business development excellence.
The role requires a deep understanding of the telecommunications industry, including regulatory landscapes and market trends. You will be expected to conduct regular client site visits, analyze financial and operational performance of assets, and monitor credit facilities to ensure compliance with institutional policies. By leveraging your leadership skills and technical banking knowledge, you will mentor your team to achieve ambitious targets for profit before tax (PBT), deposits, and risk assets, while maintaining a robust and profitable loan portfolio.

Key Requirements
First Degree in a Business-related field or Social Sciences from a reputable university.
Minimum 5 years of relevant banking experience.
Proven experience in credit management and relationship building.
Solid understanding of the telecommunications industry landscape.
Strong analytical skills for evaluating credit memoranda and market trends.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities to manage and develop junior staff.
Advanced proficiency in banking products, sales, and financial negotiation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict performance targets.
High level of professional integrity and attention to detail.
