ACCOUNTANT @ UNIONMEATGROUP
Union Meat Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join their growing team in Dar es Salaam. This role reports to the Finance Manager and is central to the financial integrity of the company's meat processing and export operations. The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting entries, preparing monthly management accounts, and ensuring that all financial reports are accurate and delivered on time. In addition to core accounting duties, the Accountant will handle statutory compliance, payroll processing, and IFRS-compliant reporting. The position requires a deep understanding of cost accounting and inventory systems to track export-related costs effectively. We are looking for a professional with a proven track record in manufacturing or FMCG sectors who can thrive in a high-pressure operational setting while maintaining strict financial controls and assisting with audit preparations.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in accounting (manufacturing, FMCG, or agro-processing preferred).
Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
Good understanding of cost accounting and inventory systems.
High attention to detail and integrity.
Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
Proven experience in preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
Knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
Experience in handling accounts payable and receivable functions.
Ability to manage payroll processing and statutory compliance filings.
