Union Service Stores Company Limited (USSL) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief Accountant to join their team in Moshi. This critical role involves overseeing all financial and accounting operations, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all statutory regulations and internal control standards. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by providing accurate reports, managing budgets, and advising management on financial strategies.
The Chief Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, bank reconciliations, and cash flow planning. You will lead a team of accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability. Additionally, the role requires direct interaction with regulatory bodies like TRA and NSSF, ensuring all submissions are timely and accurate. Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA (T) or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
Minimum of more than 5 years proven experience in accounting and financial management.
Strong understanding of Tanzanian tax laws and statutory requirements including TRA, NSSF, NHIF, and WCF.
Proficiency in modern accounting software systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data.
Experience working in manufacturing, logistics, retail, or multi-business environments.
Proven ability to manage large operational financial systems effectively.
Experience in coordinating both internal and external audit processes.
