Un Lodge en Afrique Ltd is seeking a dedicated Junior Accountant to join our finance team in Arusha. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the accounting department, working closely under the supervision of the Senior Accountant. This position involves handling daily bookkeeping, managing accounts payable, and ensuring all EFD invoices for purchases are accurately tracked and recorded. The starting salary package for this role is TZS 750,000 gross per month. In addition to routine bookkeeping, the Junior Accountant will be responsible for complex reconciliations involving bank accounts, withholding tax, VAT, and prepayments. You will collaborate with the Reservations Department to fiscalize sales invoices and support both internal and external audit processes. The role requires occasional travel to Mdori and offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional to grow within a dynamic hospitality environment. Proper documentation filing and administrative support are also key components of this position. The role involves managing cash movements in QuickBooks Online and assisting management with daily administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the finance department.
Key Requirements
Formal accounting training or a degree in Finance/Accounting.
Proven knowledge and experience using accounting systems, specifically QuickBooks Online.
Strong written and spoken communication skills in English.
Fluency in Swahili for effective local communication.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional finance team.
Flexibility and willingness to support a wide range of accounting tasks.
Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word for report generation and documentation.
Experience in performing bank and tax reconciliations.
Strong attention to detail for processing EFD invoices and sales fiscalization.
