ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT @ UMODZI MICROFINANCE LIMITED
Umodzi Microfinance Limited is looking for a principled Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic team in Tanzania. This role is essential for ensuring that the finance department discharges its functions in a timely and professional manner. You will provide support to the Head Office and offer guidance to branch staff regarding payment postings and accounting systems. The role demands high levels of integrity and attention to detail to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities include managing office expenditures and petty cash within budgetary limits, performing monthly bank and mobile money reconciliations, and preparing fixed asset registers. You will also be accountable for accurate tax computation and timely filing to ensure organizational compliance. By assessing and authenticating data integrity across various branches, you will contribute significantly to the company's overall financial management and reporting accuracy, supporting the field staff in their daily operations.

Key Requirements
Bachelor's degree in either Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a business-related field.
CPA/ACCA certification (either fully qualified or currently in progress).
2-3 years of relevant professional experience in Accounts or Finance roles.
Proven experience working with different accounting software packages.
Hands-on experience with banking systems and financial transaction processing.
Prior experience in the microfinance industry is a significant advantage.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to manage office expenditure and petty cash within set budgetary limits.
Knowledge of tax computation and timely filing of statutory returns.
Competence in performing reconciliations for bank accounts and mobile money platforms.
