ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT @ UMODZI MICROFINANCE LIMITED
UMODZI MICROFINANCE LIMITED is seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join its team at the Head Office. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the finance department by ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining the integrity of financial data from both the Head Office and various branches. Key responsibilities include managing office expenditures and petty cash within approved budgets, handling account reconciliations, and providing essential support to branch staff regarding payment posting and accounting system operations.
The role also involves ensuring accurate tax computation and the timely filing of statutory payments. You will be responsible for maintaining the fixed asset register and PPE schedules, while conducting monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, M-Pesa accounts, and fund transfers. This position requires a proactive individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively within the microfinance industry to ensure financial compliance and operational efficiency.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
CPA/ACCA certification (completed or in progress) required.
2–3 years’ experience in Accounts or Finance roles.
Experience using accounting software.
Banking systems experience is an added advantage.
Microfinance industry experience preferred.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial data management.
Ability to manage office expenditure and petty cash.
Knowledge of local tax laws and statutory filing requirements.
