SUPERVISORY INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST @ U.S. EMBASSY TANZANIA
The U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam is seeking a highly skilled Supervisory Information Management Specialist to lead IT operations, cybersecurity, and strategic planning for CDC-Tanzania. This role reports directly to the Deputy Country Director and involves supervising a team of three staff members while serving as the primary IT liaison to CDC headquarters. The position requires a leader who can manage ICT budgets, procurement, vendor relations, and application risk assessments while ensuring adherence to USG and CDC IT policies.
Key responsibilities include managing a LAN environment supporting approximately 85 users, overseeing Windows servers, firewalls, and VoIP systems, and implementing robust data protection measures. The successful candidate will be responsible for ICT strategic planning, system architecture development, and providing expert technical advice to senior management on technology investments. This is a full-time, permanent position located in Dar es Salaam, requiring professional proficiency in both English and Swahili to facilitate effective communication with stakeholders and implementing partners.

Key Requirements
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or MBA with tech-focused Bachelor’s
Must hold at least one certification: ITIL Foundation or CCNA
6+ years of progressive experience in computer information systems
3+ years managing MS Windows servers/workstations and LAN/WAN environments
2+ years of supervisory experience
Fluent (Level 4) English and Swahili proficiency
Technical mastery of MS Windows Server/Exchange, VoIP, and system diagnostics
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
Possession of valid Medical Certification
Willingness to perform occasional travel
