LEGAL OFFICER @ TZ.WILMAR-INTL
The Legal Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advisory support to management and overseeing business operations to ensure full compliance with Tanzanian laws. This role involves drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, managing legal risks within manufacturing operations, and handling litigation or regulatory disputes. The successful candidate will also be tasked with ensuring compliance with labor laws, corporate regulations, and industry standards, while maintaining productive relationships with external legal counsel and government authorities. In addition to core legal duties, the Legal Officer will serve as a key player in corporate governance. Responsibilities include coordinating annual general meetings, managing board appointments, and ensuring the proper custody of all corporate licenses, permits, and registration documents.
Key Requirements
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is required.
Must be an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania with a valid practising license.
At least 2+ years of experience in corporate matters.
In-depth knowledge of commercial law, labour law, company law, and land law.
Demonstrated experience dealing with government authorities and regulators.
Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
Experience in managing legal risks specifically within manufacturing operations.
Ability to coordinate board proceedings and annual general meetings.
Strong understanding of corporate governance and filing obligations.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in maintaining corporate documents.
