GENERAL MANAGER @ TURKYS GROUP
The General Manager will lead the overall operations of a major trading entity within the Turkys Group based in Zanzibar. This high-level executive role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, driving sustainable business growth, and ensuring long-term profitability across multiple departments. The manager is responsible for strategic oversight in sales management, procurement, and the complex processes of importation and distribution, ensuring that all logistics are handled seamlessly to meet market demands. In addition to operational tasks, the General Manager will provide critical financial oversight, monitoring budgets and performance metrics to align with corporate goals. The role involves building robust relationships with international suppliers and local customers, ensuring adherence to all tax and customs regulations. The successful candidate will be expected to lead diverse teams, develop expansion strategies, and provide regular reports to the board regarding company performance and strategic initiatives.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or Economics.
A Master’s Degree (especially an MBA) is considered a strong added advantage for this executive role.
Minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in the trading, importation, or distribution industry.
In-depth knowledge of tax compliance, customs procedures, and international trade regulations.
Proven track record in procurement management and large-scale sales operations.
Strong expertise in logistics coordination and supply chain optimization within a trading environment.
Proficiency in financial oversight, including budget monitoring and financial reporting.
Demonstrated ability in business growth, expansion initiatives, and long-term strategic planning.
Exceptional team leadership skills with experience in supervising and motivating multi-departmental staff.
Solid understanding of banking operations and supplier negotiation techniques.
