ACCOUNTANT (1 POSITION) @ TRANSPOWER
TRANSPOWER is hiring an Accountant to manage day-to-day financial tasks. The Accountant will be responsible for recording financial transactions, reviewing accounts payable and receivable, performing reconciliations, and assisting with budgeting reviews. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial health and compliance of the company's operations.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely project reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), tax laws, and regulatory requirements. The Accountant will also be responsible for verifying the accuracy of transactions in the accounting system, filing and classifying supporting documents, determining cut-off transactions for accurate closing, and reconciling intercompany accounts. Monitoring payments to creditors/banks, examining financial records for accuracy, and performing balance sheet reconciliation are also essential duties for this contract position, with one opening in Dar es Salaam.

Key Requirements
At least 3 years of experience in Finance and/or accounting, with experience from the construction industry being an advantage.
Strong background in finance and accounting principles.
Knowledge of inventory management.
Experience in managing financial statements, performing analytical tasks, and handling journal entries.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely project reports.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS), tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
