This role offers an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join the dynamic culinary team at Tiffany Diamond Hotels. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in assisting the Head Chef with kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. This position requires a creative individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen activities, managing a team of culinary professionals, and maintaining strict adherence to health and safety regulations, including HACCP standards. You will also be involved in inventory management, ordering supplies, and contributing to cost control initiatives. This is a hands-on role that demands precision, resilience, and the ability to inspire excellence within the kitchen brigade in our vibrant Dar es Salaam location.
Key Requirements
Advanced Culinary Arts qualification or equivalent practical experience.
HACCP or ISO 22000 Food Safety Management certification (added advantage).
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in a high-volume kitchen within the hospitality industry.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading and motivating a team.
Strong attention to detail and unwavering commitment to exceptional guest satisfaction and food quality.
Ability to thrive in a multicultural, fast-paced, and high-pressure kitchen environment.
Proven ability to manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
Experience with inventory management, cost control, and waste reduction.
Strong knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
