MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR @ THE SMALL THINGS
The Small Things is seeking a dedicated Marketing and Communications Coordinator to join their team in Nkoaranga, Arusha. This role is a full-time, on-site position focused on supporting orphaned and vulnerable children and families through high-quality storytelling and strategic outreach. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing monthly and quarterly newsletters, managing social media channels, and creating engaging blog content that reflects the organization's mission and the impact of the Happy Family Children’s Village and Family Preservation Program. Compensation for this role is $500/month Gross.
Beyond content creation, the role involves managing volunteer recruitment strategies and advertising platforms to attract international interns and visitors. You will work closely with the Executive Director and local staff to ensure comprehensive photographic and video coverage of programs while fostering a respectful and collaborative environment. Key Requirements
Impeccable written and spoken English proficiency (native speaker preferred).
Familiarity with photo editing software and Canva.
Proficiency in Google Docs Suite and other communications software.
Previous experience in marketing and communications, ideally within a nonprofit context.
A deep respect for Tanzanian culture and a passion for sharing it with others.
Ability to provide professional writing samples, particularly blog posts.
Skills in photography and/or videography with a portfolio of previous work.
Ability to create and manage strategies for reaching new potential volunteers.
Willingness to work on-site in or near Nkoaranga, Arusha, Tanzania.
Capacity to engage effectively with supporters on various social media platforms.
Ability to proofread and edit internal and external reports and sponsorship updates.
