PRESIDENT ELECT (1 POSITION) @ THE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION OF TANZANIA
The Medical Association of Tanzania (MAT) is inviting applications for the position of President Elect for the 2026-2028 term. This is a prestigious leadership role aimed at individuals with a deep commitment to advancing the medical profession and improving healthcare standards across Tanzania. The President Elect will work closely with the current leadership to ensure a smooth transition and will eventually take on the full responsibilities of the Presidency.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, representing the interests of medical doctors, and engaging with government and international stakeholders. This role requires a combination of clinical excellence and administrative acumen. Key Requirements
Medical Degree (MD/MBBS) from a recognized institution.
Valid registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika (MCT).
Proven leadership experience within the medical profession or similar associations.
Strong strategic thinking and organizational management skills.
Excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
Ability to represent the association at national and international levels.
Commitment to the ethics and values of the Medical Association of Tanzania.
Minimum of 10 years of clinical or administrative experience in healthcare.
Previous involvement in MAT activities or sub-committees.
Capability to serve the 2-year term (2026-2028) effectively.
