OPERATIONS LEAD @ THE BIG 5 ADVENTURES
The Big 5 Adventures is looking for a dedicated Operations Lead to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This in-office position is central to our mission, focusing on delivering high-quality travel experiences across Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania. You will take ownership of all ground logistics, including the management of vehicles, drivers, permits, and hotel bookings, while fostering strong supplier relationships through effective negotiation.
In addition to logistics, you will lead our tour coordinator and customer care teams, ensuring that itinerary execution is flawless and that any challenges are met with swift, effective problem-solving. Key Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in tour operations.
In-depth expertise in East Africa destinations, specifically Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
Proven leadership skills with experience managing tour coordinators and customer care teams.
Demonstrated proficiency in budgeting and financial oversight within an operational context.
Ability to manage complex ground logistics, including vehicles, driver schedules, and permits.
Strong negotiation skills for managing supplier relationships and hotel contracts.
Excellent problem-solving abilities to handle real-time itinerary changes and issues.
High level of organizational skills and attention to detail in travel planning.
Strong communication skills for both internal team management and external vendor relations.
Ability to work in-office in Kampala and commit to a non-remote, management-level role.
