TUTOR ASSISTANT – VETERINARY LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY (3 POSITIONS) @ THE BAGAMOYO AFRICAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (BIST)
BIST is seeking enthusiastic Tutor Assistants for Veterinary Laboratory Technology to support our academic programs. This position involves assisting in the instruction of students up to NTA Level 6, with a strong emphasis on practical skills development in veterinary laboratory procedures. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in fostering a robust learning environment focused on animal health and production. Key responsibilities include preparing and managing veterinary laboratory practicals, contributing to research initiatives, leading seminars, and facilitating engaging laboratory sessions. The Tutor Assistant will also be responsible for supervising student field practicals and projects, ensuring they gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in veterinary laboratory settings. Applicants should possess a relevant Diploma (NTA Level 6) and demonstrable experience in a veterinary laboratory environment.
Key Requirements
Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Veterinary Laboratory Technology, Animal Health and Production (Laboratory option), or a related qualification.
At least 2 years of relevant veterinary laboratory experience.
Ability to assist in teaching up to NTA Level 6 curriculum.
Proficiency in preparing and managing veterinary laboratory practicals.
Experience in conducting research, seminars, and laboratory sessions.
Skills in supervising field practicals and student projects in veterinary settings.
Knowledge of animal health diagnostics and laboratory procedures.
Understanding of biosafety protocols in a veterinary lab.
CBET training is an added advantage.
Strong organizational and instructional support skills.
