PROGRAM AND FINANCE ASSISTANT (2 POSITIONS) @ THAMINI UHAI
Thamini Uhai is a Tanzanian non-governmental organization that has been partnering with the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania since 2008 to reduce maternal and early neonatal mortality. The Program and Finance Assistant will play a vital role in the implementation of the Partnership Program for Comprehensive and Integrated Maternal and Newborn Health Improvement (Mjamzito na Mtoto Salama). This initiative, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Gates Foundation, focuses on strengthening health systems and improving Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) services in underserved rural areas. Possible work locations for these positions include the regions of Geita and Katavi.
The successful candidate will support both programmatic and financial functions, ensuring efficient activity implementation and compliance with donor regulations. Key responsibilities include coordinating field activities, managing regional office budgets, maintaining financial records, and providing administrative support such as logistics for workshops and asset register maintenance. This position requires a proactive individual with strong accounting knowledge and administrative skills to help drive the organization's mission of improving maternal and newborn health outcomes in Tanzania.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Project Management.
Minimum 2–3 years’ relevant professional experience, preferably in an NGO environment.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Experience working on donor-funded projects is considered an added advantage.
Strong communication skills in both English and Kiswahili (written and verbal).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong organizational and coordination skills to manage complex project schedules.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
Proven integrity, accountability, and a high level of attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively within a team and adapt to changing environments.
