SENIOR SAFETY OFFICER @ TENS VENTURES
We are urgently seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Safety Officer to support immediate operational requirements in Dar es Salaam. The selected candidate will lead the implementation of HSE policies, conduct safety inspections, audits, and toolbox meetings, and ensure strict compliance with OSHA and statutory safety requirements. This role requires an individual who is comfortable with a gross salary range of TZS 1.2M – 1.4M and is prepared for an immediate start in an industrial or operations environment. In addition to field inspections, the Senior Safety Officer will investigate incidents, recommend corrective actions, and prepare comprehensive safety reports. You will be instrumental in promoting a strong safety culture across all operations and maintaining detailed HSE documentation. Candidates must be available for a physical interview in Dar es Salaam and demonstrate a deep understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance.
Key Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3+ years of practical safety experience in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments.
Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) will be considered a significant advantage.
Comprehensive knowledge of workplace safety standards and Tanzanian OSHA statutory requirements.
Excellent reporting and communication skills for maintaining high-quality HSE documentation.
Proven ability to conduct safety inspections, audits, and lead effective toolbox meetings.
Experience in investigating workplace incidents and recommending impactful corrective actions.
Strong commitment to promoting and enforcing a proactive safety culture across all operations.
Ability to identify workplace hazards and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
Availability for a physical interview in Dar es Salaam and immediate or short-notice joining.
