Key Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Professional certification in safety management (e.g., NEBOSH) is an added advantage.
Proven experience as an OSH Officer within a manufacturing or heavy industrial setting.
In-depth knowledge of the Ugandan Occupational Safety and Health Act and relevant regulations.
Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive workplace risk assessments and safety audits.
Strong skills in developing and implementing emergency response and fire safety protocols.
Excellent communication and training skills to conduct safety inductions and workshops for staff.
Proficiency in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and reporting procedures.
Ability to manage and monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across sites.
Flexibility to work and coordinate safety activities in both Lugazi and Iganga locations.
