Summit Retreat is looking for a talented and passionate Commis I Chef to join their culinary team in Moshi, Kilimanjaro. As a Commis I Chef, you will support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen operations, including meticulous food preparation, artistic plating, and maintaining a clean workspace. This position is strictly for local Tanzanian candidates as accommodation is not provided by the employer. Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Commis I Chef or in a similar culinary role within the hospitality industry.
In-depth knowledge of various international cuisines and contemporary cooking techniques.
Commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences and high food quality standards.
Strong understanding of food hygiene, safety procedures, and HACCP regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with the culinary team.
Must be a Tanzanian national as per the local candidate requirement.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Attention to detail in food preparation, portion control, and artistic presentation.
Ability to manage food stock and assist in maintaining kitchen inventory levels.
