St John’s University of Tanzania (SJUT) is seeking a qualified Assistant Lecturer in Computer Science for the Centre for Information and Communication Technology (CICT). This position is based at the Chief Mazengo Campus in Dodoma and is a re-advertised, four-year fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will teach computer science courses, mentor students, and contribute to the technological advancements and academic initiatives within the center.
As part of the ICT faculty, the Assistant Lecturer will stay abreast of rapid developments in technology to provide students with modern, relevant skills. You will participate in departmental planning, research projects, and institutional service. Key Requirements
MSc in Computer Sciences
Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.5/5.0
Minimum Master’s GPA of 4.0/5.0
Expertise in current computer science frameworks and languages
Ability to develop curriculum for undergraduate ICT programs
Strong research interest in areas such as networks, AI, or software engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team-based technological environment
Dedication to student mentorship and laboratory supervision
Willingness to undertake departmental administrative responsibilities
