SENIOR PROGRAMME OFFICER – FOOD SECURITY & AGRICULTURE (1 POSITION) @ SOUTHERN AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT COMMUNITY (SADC) SECRETARIAT
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat is seeking a Senior Programme Officer for Food Security & Agriculture. This role is central to promoting regional integration and economic development across Southern Africa. The officer will be responsible for overseeing initiatives related to food security, agriculture, and socio-economic advancement, ensuring that regional protocols are effectively implemented and harmonized across member states. The position involves high-level strategic planning and coordination with regional stakeholders to ensure food sustainability and agricultural growth.
This position is a fixed-term contract of four years, renewable twice based on performance and organizational needs. Candidates will work from the SADC Secretariat, with the recruitment process coordinated through the President’s Office – Public Service Management and Good Governance in Dodoma, Tanzania. The role offers a competitive salary package between US$ 93,097.00 and US$ 99,643.00 per annum. This is a unique opportunity for Tanzanian professionals to contribute to the long-term governance and strategic development of the SADC region.

Key Requirements
Applicant must be 52 years old or younger.

Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV) with a maximum of five pages.
Certified copies of relevant Academic Degrees.
Certified copies of Diplomas and Professional Certificates.
Duly completed and signed official SADC Application Form.
Possession of original academic certificates for the interview process.
Extensive experience in Food Security or Agriculture management.
Proven expertise in regional integration and policy implementation.
Ability to serve a minimum four-year fixed-term contract.
Demonstrated leadership in agricultural development initiatives.
