The Accountant role is essential for providing professional financial support and ensuring the efficient execution of all financial functions within this dynamic organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, tracking, and analyzing financial information to support sound business decision-making. Key responsibilities include managing accounts payable, handling budgeting processes, and ensuring full compliance with taxation systems such as VAT, PAYE, and SDL. The Accountant will also be tasked with processing payroll, maintaining the fixed asset register, and preparing quarterly financial statements. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can ensure accuracy and timely reporting in line with both company objectives and strict regulatory requirements in the stockbroking industry.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Minimum of five (5) years of professional working experience in accounting or finance.
At least three (3) years of specialized experience working within a Stockbroking firm.
Professional certification such as CPA (T), ACCA, ACA, or equivalent recognized by NBAA.
Must be a member in good standing with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
Proven experience in managing accounts payable, budgeting, and taxation processes.
In-depth knowledge of statutory returns including PAYE, SDL, VAT, and withholding taxes.
Proficiency in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Experience in processing payroll, salary disbursements, and monthly allowances.
Strong ability to prepare financial statements and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
