MID-LEVEL ACCOUNTANT @ SMART MINT CAREERS
Smart Mint Careers is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant to join their growing team in Dar es Salaam. This role is designed for local candidates who possess a minimum of two years of relevant experience, particularly within the logistics or fuel and oil and gas industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner to maintain the financial integrity of the organization.
The Mid-Level Accountant will also play a crucial role in preparing accurate financial statements and reports for management review. Key duties include handling bank reconciliations, assisting with payroll processing, and ensuring full compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements. By supporting audit preparations and maintaining strong internal controls, the candidate will contribute to the company's long-term financial stability and efficiency in the Dar es Salaam region.

Key Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional accounting experience.
Must be a local candidate currently based in Tanzania.
Educational background or experience in Logistics or the Fuel/Oil & Gas industry.
Strong fundamental knowledge of financial reporting and general ledger maintenance.
Proven ability to perform detailed bank and account reconciliations.
Working knowledge of Tanzanian statutory compliance and regulatory frameworks.
Experience in processing payroll and managing employee benefits documentation.
Familiarity with tax filings including VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax requirements.
Ability to support external and internal audit preparation processes.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting software systems.
