SENIOR ACCOUNTANT @ SIMPLEPAY CAPITAL FINANCIAL SERVICES TANZANIA LTD
Simplepay Capital Financial Services Tanzania Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to manage the organization’s financial records. The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with Tanzanian tax and regulatory requirements, and supporting management with detailed financial analysis to facilitate informed decision-making. This role reports directly to the Financial Controller and involves managing a high level of responsibility within the finance department.
The Senior Accountant's core responsibilities include preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards. They will also manage general ledger accounts, oversee accounts payable and receivable, and handle bank and cash management tasks such as reconciliations and cash flow monitoring. Furthermore, the role involves ensuring full tax compliance by filing VAT, PAYE, and Corporate Tax returns with the Tanzania Revenue Authority and managing statutory obligations like NSSF and WCF.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Professional certification such as CPA (T), ACCA, or an equivalent recognized by the NBAA.
Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in a professional environment.
Proven experience with accounting software, preferably Odoo or similar ERP systems.
Strong understanding of Tanzanian tax laws and financial regulations administered by the TRA.
Prior experience working in a Microfinance Institution (MFI) or financial services company.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
