SIHOTECH Engineering Company Limited is seeking a highly skilled Control and Protection Engineer to join their growing team in Tanzania. This role is responsible for providing technical leadership in the design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of critical electrical control and protection systems to ensure the reliable operation of substations and automation interfaces. The incumbent will play a key role in maintaining compliance with international engineering standards and project-specific requirements while overseeing the technical aspects of electrical power projects.
The successful candidate will lead protection philosophy development, relay coordination studies, and ensure the seamless integration of SCADA and substation automation systems. The position requires a deep technical understanding of power systems, as the engineer will be tasked with investigating complex system faults and analyzing disturbance records to enhance overall network reliability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including telecommunications and site commissioning groups, will be a daily responsibility, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within safety protocols, and to the highest industry specifications.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
Possession of a valid professional practicing licence.
Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical control and protection systems.
Strong expertise in HV/MV substation control systems.
Proficiency in protection relay settings and coordination software.
Solid knowledge of IEC 61850 standards and SCADA integration.
Demonstrated experience in substation commissioning and testing.
Ability to analyze system faults and disturbance records.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
