We are seeking a visionary Head of Information Technology (Digital Transformation) to lead digital initiatives within the United Arab Emirates government sector. Based in Abu Dhabi, this role is pivotal in driving the modernization of public services through the implementation of advanced digital solutions and enterprise platforms. The role is tasked with aligning technological advancements with national digital strategies to ensure the UAE remains a leader in smart government innovation. The position includes an executive government package and offers the opportunity to lead transformation programs that impact the entire public sector infrastructure. The Head of IT will be responsible for the entire digital roadmap, from strategic planning to execution and maintenance of enterprise-wide systems. Effective stakeholder management at the ministerial level is a key component of this role, requiring a professional who can bridge the gap between technical requirements and policy objectives. Although this post is for Abu Dhabi, the role may require coordination with strategic partners in Riyadh as part of broader regional technology initiatives.
Key Requirements
At least 15 years of professional experience in IT leadership and transformation.
Prior experience in the UAE government or a similar public sector environment.
Strong capabilities in leadership and managing high-level organizational stakeholders.
In-depth experience in leading complex digital transformation roadmaps and initiatives.
Proficiency in managing and optimizing enterprise-grade platforms and systems.
Specialized knowledge in implementing smart government technologies and workflows.
Superior strategic planning skills focused on long-term technological advancement.
Master's degree or higher in a relevant field such as IT Management or Engineering.
Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills for ministerial level reporting.
Successful history of delivering large-scale IT projects within set timelines and budgets.
