GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER (1 POSITION) @ SHANTA MINING COMPANY LIMITED
Shanta Mining Company Limited is commencing underground mining operations at Singida Gold Mine as part of its transition from open-pit to underground mining. The project includes portal development, decline excavation, and underground mine infrastructure development. We are inviting experienced Tanzanian professionals to join our team for this pivotal underground development project located at our Singida site. The Geotechnical Engineer will play a critical role in providing essential geotechnical support to ensure safe and efficient underground mining operations through rigorous ground-condition assessment and data-driven modelling.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering
Minimum 3 years experience in underground mining or geotechnical engineering
Proficiency in geotechnical mapping and instrumentation monitoring
Knowledge of Map3D, RS2, UnWedge, or Leapfrog software
Ability to perform geotechnical incident investigations
Strong analytical and technical advisory skills
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain geotechnical models
Willingness to work a 6 weeks on/3 weeks off roster
Strong understanding of rock mechanics and ground stability
Competency in providing technical training to operational staff
