Selcom Tanzania is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Officer to join our rapidly growing team. This role is designed for professionals who are passionate about the Fintech industry and have a knack for identifying and seizing new business opportunities. As a Business Development Officer, you will be responsible for expanding our market presence, fostering strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth through innovative sales strategies. You will play a crucial role in promoting our mobile money and merchant acquiring services to a diverse range of clients across various sectors including Banking, Telecom, and FMCG.

The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Tanzanian financial landscape, particularly in the areas of mobile finance and digital payments. You will be expected to manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to negotiation and closing. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment where your contributions directly impact the company's success. Work locations for this position include Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Mwanza, Moshi, and Mbeya. Applicants must be ready to operate in these regions to drive the company's expansion goals.

Key Requirements

Minimum 1+ year of experience in Sales and Marketing. Good understanding of Mobile Money and Merchant Acquiring ecosystems. Experience in Banking, Fintech, Telecom, FMCG or Financial Services sectors. Strong communication and deal-closing skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a go-getter attitude. Digitally proficient and tech-savvy professional. Ability to build and maintain long-term professional relationships with clients. Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets. Capability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence decision-makers. Analytical mindset to evaluate market trends and competitor activity.
