The Financial Administrator will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of SEDIT, ensuring that all resources are managed transparently and in strict compliance with donor requirements and Tanzanian financial laws. This includes processing all financial transactions, maintaining accurate ledger records, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. You will work closely with program managers to track budgets and provide financial insights that support project implementation.

In addition to core financial management, the role involves critical administrative duties such as procurement coordination, asset management, and payroll processing. You will serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external financial audits and will be responsible for implementing robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks. This position is vital for maintaining the financial health and accountability of the organization in its partnership with international entities like COWATER-Sweden.

Key Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. Professional accounting certification (CPA-T or equivalent) is highly preferred. At least 4 years of solid experience in financial management within the NGO or non-profit sector. Advanced proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, or similar ERP systems. Experience in managing international donor funds and ensuring compliance with diverse grant regulations. Strong skills in budget preparation, budget vs. actual monitoring, and strategic financial forecasting. Comprehensive understanding of Tanzanian tax laws, NGO regulations, and statutory requirements. High level of integrity, professional ethics, and extreme attention to detail. Proven ability to manage organizational payroll, procurement processes, and vendor relations. Excellent organizational and time-management skills to meet tight reporting deadlines.
