ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT @ SANLAM ALLIANZ
Sanlam Allianz is seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their finance department. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of financial records and ensuring the company adheres to all regulatory and tax requirements within Mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar. Key duties involve preparing statutory tax returns such as VAT, WHT, and PAYE, while monitoring changes in tax legislation to ensure continuous compliance.
The role also encompasses the management of the fixed asset register, including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation schedules. You will be responsible for reconciling General Ledger accounts and supporting both internal and external audits. This position requires a professional who can handle complex tax adjustments and coordinate necessary documentation with high accuracy, contributing to the overall strength of the company's financial operations.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or Commerce.
CPA qualification is a significant added advantage.
2–3 years of professional experience in accounting or audit.
Previous experience in insurance, banking, or financial services preferred.
Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws and insurance regulations.
Comprehensive understanding of IFRS and local financial reporting standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and professional reporting skills.
High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
