ELECTRICAL DESIGNER – MEP @ SALVIUS NDOMBA
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Designer specialized in MEP systems to join our professional team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive electrical load calculations, demand schedules, and designing efficient power distribution systems including MDB, SMDB, and DB layouts. You will also be tasked with creating detailed lighting designs, performing lux calculations, and designing complex cable routing, containment systems, and earthing layouts to ensure safety and compliance with international standards. In this role, you will be expected to prepare high-quality single-line diagrams (SLD) and panel schedules while ensuring all designs are optimized for performance and cost-effectiveness.
In addition to technical design work, you will collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Architectural, and Structural teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems within the overall building design. You will be responsible for supporting technical submittals and managing the process of obtaining consultant approvals. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in residential, commercial, hospitality, or high-rise projects and possess the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills are essential for effective coordination and project delivery.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
4–6 years of professional experience specifically in electrical design for MEP projects.
In-depth knowledge and practical application of international IEC standards.
Proven experience working on residential, commercial, hospitality, or high-rise building projects.
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD for detailed technical drafting.
Expertise in Revit MEP for Building Information Modeling and coordination.
Competency in using Dialux or Dialux Evo for professional lighting and lux calculations.
Knowledge of ETAP or equivalent software for electrical system analysis and simulation.
Experience using Navisworks for 3D coordination and clash detection.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex electrical engineering problems.
Excellent coordination and communication skills to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
