Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Proven professional experience working as a SHEQ Officer or in a similar safety-focused role. Relevant professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualifications. In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian occupational health and safety laws and international standards. Strong ability to conduct thorough hazard identifications and complex risk assessments. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for delivering safety briefings and training. Proficiency in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and operational procedures. Analytical skills to investigate workplace incidents and recommend effective corrective actions. High level of organizational skill with an emphasis on accurate record-keeping and documentation. Proactive mindset with the ability to influence others and promote a positive safety culture.
