We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team in the steel manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring the timely acquisition of high-quality machinery, spare parts, and raw materials essential for our production operations. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining our supply chain efficiency by liaising with local and international vendors, conducting rigorous technical evaluations, and negotiating contracts that optimize costs while meeting strict quality standards.
In this role, you will be deeply involved in the procurement of components for critical infrastructure, including Induction Furnaces, Melt Shops, and Rolling Mills. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the steel production lifecycle and the ability to manage complex supply chains effectively. You will be expected to utilize ERP systems to track inventory and procurement activities, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with corporate policies. This position is based in Tanzania and requires an individual with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to solving supply chain challenges.

Key Requirements
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in procurement.
Proven experience in procurement of steel plant machinery and spare parts.
Deep knowledge of electrical and mechanical components.
Experience in Induction Furnace, Melt Shop, or Rolling Mill environments.
Demonstrated ability in supplier sourcing and negotiation.
Technical quotation evaluation skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel.
Experience in international sourcing and import procedures.
Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.
Ability to manage follow-up processes with global vendors.
