RIFT VALLEY CO-OPERATIVE UNION LIMITED (RIVACU LTD) is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Agricultural Field Extension Officer to join their team in the Babati Manyara region. The primary responsibility of this role is to supervise and coordinate extension services within the operational areas of RIVACU LTD, ensuring that farmers receive the support and education necessary to enhance their agricultural productivity. The officer will act as a vital link between agricultural research and the farming community, facilitating the transfer of knowledge and modern techniques.
The successful candidate will collaborate with the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) and other key stakeholders to establish and manage model farms that serve as practical learning sites for local farmers. Key duties include the dissemination of agricultural research results and providing hands-on assistance to help farmers adopt sustainable and efficient crop farming practices. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in general agriculture and strong communication skills to effectively engage with diverse farming populations and drive agricultural development in the region.

Key Requirements
Must hold a Diploma in General Agriculture, Agricultural Field/Extension, or a related field from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in agricultural extension or field services.
Proven ability to supervise and coordinate agricultural extension services effectively.
Strong skills in providing education and training to farmers on modern agricultural techniques.
Experience in collaborating with research institutions like the Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI).
Ability to manage and run model farms to demonstrate best practices to the community.
Proficiency in disseminating complex agricultural research results to a lay audience.
Expertise in assisting farmers with the adoption of good crop farming practices and sustainable methods.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for community engagement.
Knowledge of the agricultural landscape and challenges specific to the Manyara region or similar environments.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in field settings.
