MONITORING, EVALUATION AND LEARNING (MEL) OFFICER INTERN @ RICE COUNCIL OF TANZANIA
The Rice Council of Tanzania (RCT) is seeking a highly motivated Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer Intern to join our team in Dar es Salaam. Reporting to the Programme and Business Development Advisor, the successful candidate will play a critical role in strengthening our MEL systems by managing project performance data, supporting field-based monitoring activities, and facilitating evidence-based decision-making. You will work across the rice value chain, engaging with diverse stakeholders including farmers, government bodies, and development partners to document our impact.
In this role, you will assist in the design and implementation of data collection tools, perform rigorous data analysis, and contribute to the preparation of high-quality reports that track our progress against key performance indicators. The position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the NGO sector, specifically within agricultural development. You will also participate in organizational learning initiatives, helping to capture success stories and case studies that highlight our contribution to a sustainable rice sector in Tanzania.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in M&E, Statistics, Project Planning, Development Studies, or related field.
Proven proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
Familiarity with data collection tools like KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, or TOLA Data.
Ability to analyze complex datasets and create insightful visualizations using Power BI or SPSS.
Strong writing skills for technical reports, success stories, and case studies.
Prior field experience or internships related to donor-funded agricultural projects.
Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail for data accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
