PROCUREMENT & OPERATIONS OFFICER @ REED ENGINEERING
Reed Engineering is seeking a dedicated Procurement & Operations Officer to join our performance-driven team in Tanzania. This role is pivotal in managing our supply chain lifecycle, from initial supplier communication to final delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for issuing purchase enquiries, requesting competitive quotations for both goods and services, and conducting detailed cost analyses to support informed procurement decision-making. You will maintain meticulous procurement records, monitor inventory levels, and ensure accurate stock tracking to maintain seamless business operations. Beyond administrative tasks, the Procurement & Operations Officer will actively coordinate with various internal departments to assess their specific requirements and ensure timely delivery of essential items. You will be expected to follow up on purchase orders, resolve any delivery discrepancies, and contribute your expertise to improving overall procurement and operational processes. This position requires a professional with high attention to detail who can work independently while meeting tight deadlines, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and reliability of Reed Engineering's supply chain.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
Proven experience in procurement or operations roles is highly preferred.
Strong negotiation skills and effective communication abilities for local and international suppliers.
Excellent analytical and costing skills to support procurement decision-making.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and various inventory management systems.
High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining professional standards.
Ability to work independently and consistently meet project and operational deadlines.
Experience in issuing purchase enquiries and requesting competitive quotations.
Capable of maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation.
Ability to coordinate effectively with internal departments to assess and fulfill requirements.
