REED Engineering & Industrial Services Limited is seeking a competent and proactive Procurement & Operations Officer to join our team in Tanzania. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth flow of our operations by managing supplier relationships, requesting and evaluating quotations, and performing detailed costing analyses. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services to support our ongoing projects in the mining and industrial sectors. In addition to core procurement tasks, the officer will handle day-to-day operations, professional email correspondence with international and local partners, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Proven professional experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations, specifically within the mining or industrial sectors.
Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively manage supplier relationships and contract terms.
High proficiency in both written and spoken English for professional correspondence and documentation.
Demonstrated ability to write and send professional emails to various stakeholders including suppliers and clients.
Practical experience in handling quotations, performing costing analysis, and managing stock levels.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a particular focus on Excel for data management and reporting.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict operational deadlines.
Capability to monitor inventories and keep electronic and physical records updated accurately.
Strong problem-solving skills to resolve supply chain issues and follow up on pending orders to ensure timely delivery.
