Red Envelope is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Sales to lead our fertilizer and agriculture business operations across Tanzania. This is a senior-level position responsible for driving significant growth, expanding our market presence, and fostering deep partnerships within the agricultural sector. The successful candidate will oversee the entire sales strategy, including business development, distributor management, and team leadership to ensure we continue to support Tanzanian farmers effectively.
The role involves extensive travel (approximately 70% of the time) across various regions in Tanzania to manage field operations, visit depots, and engage with key stakeholders. You will lead a high-performing team, monitor market trends, and ensure that our sales targets are met while maintaining strict compliance with industry regulations. Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or Business Administration
8-10+ years of sales experience
Minimum 5 years specifically in the fertilizer or agrochemical industry
Minimum 4 years in a senior sales leadership role
Proven track record in managing geographically distributed sales teams
Strong knowledge of the Tanzanian agricultural market and key stakeholders
Proficiency in CRM, ERP, and Tally systems
Strong negotiation, credit management, and debtor control skills
Fluency in English (Mandatory) and Kiswahili (Highly Preferred)
Deep understanding of TFRA regulations and industry compliance
