Red Envelope Consultants LLP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Works Manager for a leading Fertilizer & Mining company based in Arusha, Tanzania. This senior leadership position is responsible for overseeing the entirety of plant operations, production, maintenance, quality, safety, and administrative functions to drive operational excellence and meet organizational growth targets.
The successful candidate will lead mining, beneficiation, and NPK production units, ensuring they meet rigorous production targets and international quality standards. Beyond technical oversight, the role involves building and mentoring a large workforce, promoting a zero-harm safety culture, and managing budgetary performance. Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or Mineral Processing.
Minimum 10 years of experience in plant, factory, or works management within fertilizer, mining, or heavy manufacturing.
At least 5 years of proven leadership experience managing large, multi-shift workforces.
Strong knowledge of NPK production processes and mineral beneficiation.
Demonstrated expertise in ISO 9001 quality management and industrial safety protocols.
Proficiency in equipment maintenance planning, budgeting, and performance reporting.
Ability to manage industrial relations and foster a disciplined, collaborative team environment.
Fluency in English; knowledge of Kiswahili is considered an advantage.
Proven ability to optimize production costs and improve operational efficiency.
Excellent leadership and communication skills to interface with the CEO and operations staff.
