OPERATIONS / LOGISTICS COORDINATOR @ RECROOT AFRICA
Our client, a leading freight forwarding company in Tanzania, is seeking a dedicated Operations / Logistics Coordinator to manage import transit shipments. The role is critical in ensuring smooth cargo movement through Dar es Salaam Port and other key transit points. The successful candidate will oversee the entire logistics chain from supplier coordination to final dispatch, ensuring all operational milestones are met efficiently. The coordinator will be responsible for liaising with various stakeholders, including port authorities and inspection agencies, to facilitate seamless imports. Key tasks include arranging transport modes like truck or rail, monitoring shipments, and resolving delays at border points. Proficiency in handling shipping documentation such as Bills of Lading, WH7, and T1 is essential to prevent additional costs like demurrage or storage fees.
Key Requirements
Minimum 3 years' experience in clearing & forwarding, shipping, or logistics in Tanzania
Strong understanding of shipping documentation and import transit processes
Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn ERP systems
High integrity and strong follow-up skills
Ability to work under pressure and handle complex logistics scenarios
Strong written and spoken English with conversational Swahili
In-depth knowledge of WH7 and T1 document processing
Proven track record in coordinating with port authorities and inspection agencies
Experience in arranging truck or rail transport for timely cargo dispatch
Ability to provide daily operational updates and practical solutions for efficiency
