MAINTENANCE ENGINEER @ RECROOT AFRICA
Recroot AFRICA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Engineer for a Graphite Mining Project in Tanzania. The primary role of this position is to lead the comprehensive maintenance planning and execution for all mining and plant equipment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations across the site.
Key responsibilities include planning and overseeing both preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime. This involves maintaining the availability of plant and mobile equipment, efficiently managing breakdown responses, processing work orders, and controlling spare parts inventory. The role also requires supervising technicians and contractors, rigorously enforcing Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, preparing detailed maintenance reports, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and safety protocols within the mining environment.

Key Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering
5+ years of relevant maintenance experience, preferably in mining or heavy industry
Knowledge of maintenance planning principles and practices
Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Experience with spare-parts control and inventory management
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Excellent coordination and organizational abilities
Proven team leadership and supervisory experience
Willingness to work in a site-based environment in Tanzania
Strong safety mindset and adherence to HSE standards
