WORKSHOP MANAGER @ REC-ROOTAFRICA
Rec-rootafrica is seeking a dedicated and experienced Workshop Manager to lead our maintenance operations. The primary focus of this role is to ensure fleet availability, safety, and cost efficiency across our entire inventory of trucks, trailers, and transport equipment. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day repairs, developing robust workshop systems, and managing a team of skilled technicians to maintain the highest standards of logistics performance.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in heavy-duty vehicles such as Scania and Howo. Key responsibilities include planning preventive maintenance, managing spare parts procurement, and implementing safety compliance measures. By improving job tracking and reporting controls, the Workshop Manager will drive productivity and ensure that our fleet remains operational and safe, minimizing downtime and optimizing operational costs within the Tanzanian logistics sector.

Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or Senior Workshop Supervisor in a logistics, transport, or fleet-based company.
Strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including Howo, Scania, and similar vehicles.
Familiarity with creating or improving workshop systems, maintenance processes, and reporting controls.
Experience in preventive maintenance planning, diagnostics, repairs, and team supervision.
Good understanding of workshop safety, compliance, and cost control.
Ability to lead workshop technicians and support teams to ensure productivity and quality work.
Experience in managing spare parts planning, inventory control, and cost-effective procurement.
Strong organizational skills to handle job tracking and maintenance scheduling for efficient operations.
Excellent problem-solving abilities to handle mechanical emergencies and minimize fleet downtime.
Effective communication skills for reporting and team coordination within a logistics environment.
