SENIOR E&I SUPERVISOR @ REC ROOTAFRICA
The Senior E&I Supervisor role requires a seasoned Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in cable terminations and testing for systems up to 33kV. In this leadership position, you will supervise and coordinate all Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) installation activities on-site. Your primary focus will be ensuring that cable terminations are executed safely and correctly, while overseeing the verification of testing activities including IR, Hipot, VLF, and sheath tests. You will act as the technical authority on-site, interpreting results to ensure strict compliance with project specifications.
As a senior member of the team, you will provide essential technical guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to the E&I staff to foster professional growth and operational excellence. You will also be responsible for liaising with project management, clients, and other engineering disciplines to facilitate smooth workflows and timely delivery. By prioritizing safe work practices and adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, you will ensure that all E&I works are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Proven experience serving as an E&I Supervisor or in a similar leadership role on large projects.
Extensive technical experience in terminations and cable testing up to 33kV.
Solid understanding of the installation and verification of terminations up to 33kV.
In-depth knowledge of MV cable accessories, including various jointing kits and testing gear.
Advanced ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a diverse technical team.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to address site challenges efficiently.
Unwavering commitment to safety, quality control, and project delivery timelines.
Ability to ensure adherence to HSE policies and procedures at all times.
Experience in coordinating with external clients and multi-disciplinary project teams.
Proficiency in planning and overseeing on-site installation and testing schedules.
